Tillandsia are one of the easiest plants to take care of - they need no soil or potting mix, just leave them in (you guessed it) the open air e.g. on a table or in a pretty container.

Make sure they get plenty of bright light, but not too much direct sunlight. Near a windowsill is perfect. Keep within 8-12inches of a window.

Watering is once every 4-7 days but dunking in a bowl full of water, swirling it around, so that the plant is able to absorb water through its leaves. Take out within 3-5 minutes, shake off the excess water, and dab the base with tissue to make sure its somewhat dry. After watering ideally place in front of an open window or where it can get some fan so it dries out quickly. The thing that usually people make a mistake with is letting the plants stay wet for too long. You can place upside down to dry.
